The primary focus of The Awareness Program has always been to help spread the music and message of independent musicians throughout the southeast region. We offer a number of D.I.Y (i.e., do it yourself/independent) oriented services geared towards helping musicians produce quality art in an economical manner. From recording and producing to designing and promoting, we can assist from the conceptual phases through the final product. By no means do we consider ourselves in the same league as Capitol Records, Jadetree or any "major" label. We work primarily in small quantities and pride ourselves on the more intimate relationships we hold with artists putting out releases with the label. Whether you're looking for help putting an album together, or would just like to have professional quality design work for a CD you've recorded and produced yourself, we've got you covered.
If you're interested in reocording your work, The Awareness Program can provide you with the opportunity. We use digital recorders then transfer the songs to CD for you. We can also help in the mixing, mastering and producing of the final product, if you so desire. I mean come on, we are using our inkjet printers and three cd burners out of one house to do all this stuff, its punk rock.
Designing and conceptualizing albums and the promotional merchandise to accompany them is something The Awareness Program prides itself in offering. Each artist's individual style and sound qualities are taken into consideration in order to provide artwork that best represents the music being presented. From traditional CD layouts, T-shirts, stickers and buttons to individually unique packaging alternatives, our designers can tackle (almost) any project you throw their way. Artist input concerning project conceptualization is a vital part of the entire visualization process. We consider the design a collaborative effort between the musicians and the designer. The final product therefore provides the audience with an accurate representation of what both the music and musicians intend it to represent.
Each artist is expected to promote shows and releases to the fullest extent. The Awareness Program is willing to put as much effort into promoting as the artist is. We can help find and book venues, post your shows on local websites and even provide a link or a page on The Awareness Program website.
Collaboration is the key to any successful efforts made by a label and the artists on it. The Awareness Program hopes to help musicians reach their goals through the combined efforts of talented and motivated individuals driven to make a difference in the music scene.
